How to upgrade your account to premium at zero cost

Free Upgrade to Premium

Get upgraded to Premium type for free

We decided to be a better company and finish 2017 with a great offer to all our users and new ones to come. From December 2017 you can get full benefits of services at absolutely no costs at all.

This is not a joke! You can sign up for Freemium account and get it upgraded to Premium at zero cost!

Freemium vs Premium

What is the difference between free and paid subscription types?

Freemium plan gives you access to a limited set of features, but is still very powerful:

  • schedule an unlimited number of posts to Facebook and Twitter
  • create Twitter message lists
  • link unlimited number of Facebook profiles, managed pages, and Twitter accounts

With paid subscriptions on top of freemium features you also get:

  • Facebook Message Lists
  • Analytics
  • Instagram Publishing Calendar

There is also one distinction. With freemium subscription, you agree to allow services to post on your behalf one self-promoting tweet on every hundred tweets you post.

How to upgrade to Premium

There are two ways:

  1. Change your subscription from freemium to one of the paid plans. This way you will get access to all the features and will remove self-promoting tweets.
  2. You can get upgraded to premium subscription at no costs involved. You would still have to agree to freemium terms of use and agree our services to post self-promoting tweets on every hundred tweets you post.

So let's focus on the second way since it is FREE, right? 🙂

From now on when you log into you will see a referral URL on your dashboard. Share this URL with your audience (friends, colleagues, followers on social media). That is it!

When people sign up for using your referral URL you will get a referral point. As soon as three people signed up and verified their email addresses your account will be granted premium access to all the features!

It does not matter if registered users chose freemium or paid subscription type. You would get your referral point in any case. Once you got your 3 points (you can see the status on the dashboard as well, next to your referral URL) you will get upgraded automatically.

And yes, they can also upgrade from freemium to premium the same way. No restrictions there.

Why are we doing this? Well, there are a few reasons. First, we want to finish 2017 by doing something nice to all of you. Second - the more of you use all the features, the more feedback we are going to receive and feedback is always great. This is how we know what you use, what you like or dislike, what you would like to have, and how we can do things better.

Hope you enjoy this little giveaway! 🙂

We would love your feedback! And will love you forever if you share our great news on your social media channels!

3 Growth hacking tips for Twitter

3 Twitter growth hacking tips by Bludgedmarketing

How to grow your Twitter audience

Twitter is a great platform to promote your business, find new clients, offer new products and services. But having a Twitter account for your business is not enough. It won't get you anywhere. So you really need to work and work hard, on getting your content out there and engaging with others in order to generate some leads. Luckily, there are several growth hacking tips that can greatly help us with that.

There are plenty of great resources out there related to Twitter growth such as Twitter marketing tips and trick from HubSpot or a great compilation of Twitter growth hacking related posts on Socialquant. In this though through I am going to show you a few simple techniques that can help you with getting from zero (no Twitter account) to, I wish I could say "hero" here, a stage where your account is noticeable and your tweets generate some traffic to your website. To a point where your Twitter account starts actually working for you.

In short, here are the steps you need to follow:

These are all free techniques, that can bring you consistent followers growth and extra traffic to your website. And as a result could convert your visitors into customers.

Growth hacking tip #1 - Set up Twitter Account

To set up your Twitter account you have to follow following three steps:

  1. create an account
  2. add a profile image, background image, your bio (description of your business)
  3. post 10-20 tweets of your own content and retweet somebody else's content as your initial load, so your account does not look empty when people check it out.

Creating an account is a very straightforward process so I won't be covering it here.

Why is it important to have profile and background images and your bio on your Twitter profile? You want to make sure that it is clear to your visitors who you are and what you have to offer. Profiles without an avatar image leave an impression of incomplete and therefore discourage people from engaging. Try to avoid using some unrelated media files for your profile or background images. For example, if you run a dental clinique do not use a flower field as your profile image and some mountain lake as a background. Instead, place your business logo as a profile and some smiling people as a background. This way it is absolutely clear what kind of business you have.

Same goes for your bio, description of your business, what you have to offer etc. Add the address, link to your website. So people know how to get in touch with you.

The next step is as important as first two. You do not want people to end up on a blank Twitter profile page even if you have relevant images and super clear description. If there is no content, again, it means that you are either not ready yet, or your account is abandoned. In either case, chances that people will follow your account are very slim. There will be some accounts following, but most likely those are automated interactions and they won't really engage with your content and therefore won't bring any value to your business.

So the first thing you have to do after you created your Twitter account is to post initial load of content. Make sure you add some nice graphics as well. Find related tweets and retweet them as well. Your goal is to fill up your profile page with relevant high-quality content. So every visitor would have something to see and engage with.

Growth hacking tip #2 - Posting on Twitter

You do need to post often on Twitter. There are a few reasons for it.

First - you get higher chances of engagement. Due to the nature of Twitter, a lifetime of each tweet you post is very small (about 5 minutes), and after that it loses the chance of getting any attention. Tweeting your content frequently will increase your engagement.

Second - you want to make sure that your account looks active for other users. People (and smart bots) check how often you tweet and when was the last time you tweeted. If you have not posted anything in a few weeks your visitors may think that you have given up on your Twitter account and there is no need in following you since you are not delivering anything and most likely won't engage with their content either. This aspect was covered in details in our recent post on how to get ver 5000 followers on Twitter.

I know that it could be very time consuming being online all the time and tweet again and again. To make your life easier we, at, came up with the solution - Twitter Message Lists. You can create a list of tweets, your publishing calendar and then let your tweets loop. If you have new content to share, you can simply add a new tweet(s) to the list and they will be published for you according to your schedule. You can learn more about how to recycle your tweets in our recent blog post.

Growth hacking tip #3 - Engage with other users on Twitter

This is one of the most important activities you have to perform in order to grow your Twitter account. All previous tasks are also important and engaging with others would not get you very far if your account looks mediocre or you do not have any content. But this activity is what actually drives followers growth at early stages.

We covered in depth reasons why it is so important to engage with other users in our recent post about how to get over 5000 followers on Twitter. But to save you from reading another post I will give you a quick sum-up:

When you like and share content of other users you attract their attention. Generally, people are nice and if they see somebody complementing their work (and liking and sharing their content is, in fact, complementing it) they want to return a favour. So find relevant accounts, check their profiles, like their tweets, share their tweets if you like them that much. Respond to direct messages and tweets sent to you. Follow back.

I don't want to lie to you. It is not an easy task to grow your Twitter account especially if you do not have a budget for advertising and have limited time. It will take time. But it does work and with some dedication, schedule and set of tools you can grow your account and help your business shine!

Good luck and please feel free to get in touch with us on Twitter or leave a comment if you have any questions about our Twitter growth hacking tips.

How to get over 5000 followers on Twitter

So you are getting closer to 5000 mark, congrats! This is really awesome! But it might be a bit tricky to pass it when Twitter does not allow you to follow more than 5000 accounts if you have less than 5k followers. Make sure to read our most valuable Twitter growth hacking tips and tricks if you are only getting started with your journey on Twitter.

With following 4 rules you can easily get over 5k followers milestone and just build up your Twitter audience does not matter how popular your account is:

  1. Follow and engage with relevant accounts on daily basis
  2. Unfollow ignoring users
  3. Respond to direct messages and be careful with auto DMs
  4. Tweet often

Follow and engage with relevant accounts on daily basis

Why is it important to engage with other users? Twitter is an overcrowded network, with lots of very popular accounts everybody is following and listening to. If you do not make a move yourself, it is less likely you will get noticed. Imagine a party you attend where you do not know anybody. Unless you are already a very popular person or you know the host and he/she would introduce you to the rest it is most likely you would be standing somewhere in the corner just watching the party go by. Unless you express initiative, come up to people and introduce yourself. If you do, you might leave the party with quite a few new friends!

Same thing with social networks. You have to engage. And when you grow your account you have to do it often.

But whom should you engage with? Where can you find those accounts? This is easy. Find an influencer in your niche, a very popular account that is relevant to your business or interest. And simply go through their list of followers. But do not blindly follow all the followers. This would only grow the number of users you follow with very low conversion (number of people following you back). To increase your chances of being followed back you have to express your interest in that person. To begin with, be genuine (well up to a point). Check each account be fore you engage, check the following/followers ratio. If the account is followed by 100k people but follows only 23, chances are you not going to get followed back. It is not necessarily a bad thing, but we will get back to it later.

  • Check how active the account is, how many tweets were posted. When was the last tweet?
  • What is he/she tweeting about? Many people follow lots of random accounts. Many people tweet some really weird stuff. Before you engage, make sure that content posted by the user is in similar interests area as yours. Let's say if you starting an icecream business in New York it is less likely people constantly tweeting about oil industry in Siberia would be very much interested.

To figure out if the account is relevant takes about a second. If you see that it could be a good match, engage, like several tweets, if you find something really interesting don't be shy and retweet. After that follow that user. This way of engagement increases your chances of conversion from 1.5% to 32%, we did our testing 🙂

Before we wrap up this topic, I just wanted to mention that following popular accounts in your business niche even if you know they will not follow you back is not bad at all! One of the very good reasons why to follow them is that you might be spotted by similar guys like yourself going through the followers of that very account. So don't follow people just to be followed back!

Unfollow ignoring users

It may sound harsh, but in order to get over 5000 followers milestone, you need to clean up your account frequently. Otherwise, you would reach your limits of the number of users you follow and you would not be able to engage with anybody else. If you are not engaging then you are not growing.

My strategy here is to dedicate one day a week to detox. For six days you engage with other users, follow them, and then one day you just go through your list of users you follow and unfollow those who did not follow you back. Some people unfollow you as well due to their own reasons. So unless they provide some great unique content you are interested in, there is no need to keep them.

There is another very good reason why you need to keep your account clean. Your image! Yes, it sounds stupid, but in reality people do look at the number of users you follow and how many follow you back. If you follow 4900 users and have only 20 followers your chances are very slim. People would think that your content is not worth their time. It is more likely to be followed when you have 10 followers and you follow 10 people, rather than you have 100 followers and you follow 5000 people. If your numbers are low it only means you are only starting your journey, and many people are happy to help. When your ratio is huge, then you are treated as a spammer.

Respond to direct messages and be careful with auto DMs

If you receive a direct message, take your time and answer it. It is great to start a conversation and get to know each other better. This way you can build a relationship and increase trust in your business.

Quite often you would receive an auto DM from the accounts you followed. I personally don't like those, but I still advise on responding to those messages, unless they are strict sales or spam message, like "Buy my new book on Amazon" or "Follow me on Instagram".

If you decided to use auto direct messages, it is absolutely fine, but just make sure you are being polite and at least introduce yourself. Don't write extremely long messages, those are less likely to be read. People don't have time these days, and they just met you. So no need to be boring right away 🙂

Another thing to watch out for is dummy algorithms in auto DMs. Some tools don't check if the message was sent to you already and can send the same message again and again. Receiving an auto DM is not the best thing, but getting the same message several times is so BAD. That can damage your account credibility.

Automation is great, but human interaction is better. So if you can avoid using auto DMs, do it!

Tweet often

Remember when we talked about following relevant accounts, one of the checks was to see how active the account is? Well, same goes for you. If you do not tweet, but only engage, you are going to struggle. Imaging the same party where you know nobody. If you come up to a group of people and only introduce yourself (which is better than nothing) and then stay silently listening to others, how likely do you think people would remember you? Well, they might if you look extraordinary. But most likely people remember those who told great stories, did something cool, was entertaining.

Same on Twitter. You have to deliver great content. Your tweets need to stand out with great media used, right hashtags etc..

But what if you don't have much to share now? The content you share does not have to be yours. You can share great blog posts you read, some tools you use, other tweets you liked! It could be time-consuming, I know. I recommend having a stream of tweets going in the loop as your background activity. This way when you don't have anything to share, or just taking some time off you account remains active. It is also useful if you want to deliver your content to your audience since with looping tweets you increase your chances of engagement because your tweet is getting seen by more people throughout the looping cycle. And of course, I would recommend you to use for looping tweets. It is easy to use, it is free to use, and it is our product and this is how good I am at selling it 🙂 If you fancy giving it a try there is a post explaining how to set up looping tweets.

How to get 1000 Twitter followers monthly in 40 seconds a day

How to grow your Twitter audience on autopilot

You hear it quite often that running your social media on autopilot is bad. And I cannot agree more, it is. But many small businesses do not have resources (budget, time, people) to spare on content marketing all the time. If this sounds familiar then this is the article for you.

A couple of months ago our Twitter account had around 800 followers. I was busy working on new functionality for the product and could not spare much time on content creation and promotion online. I also did not have budget to hire somebody to help me out. So I started using following three tools and less than a minute a day after the initial setup to keep it going and growing. Today we have over 3k followers.

So let's get to it.

Create your Twitter Message List Twitter Message List

This is the first and the most time consuming step. But you do it once and revisit once a month or so.

You need to create a list of tweets that will be posted to your feed in a loop. Which means your feed will be always alive and plus you will be constantly promoting your product.

I used to create my Twitter Message List. There are several alternatives out there, but for starters this is our own product and another good reason to use it - it is free and you can hook up as many accounts as you want. Here is an article with step by step guide on how to set up looping tweets.

You can play with your publishing frequency and times to configure the best schedule. In my case I tweet once an hour. In order to get your Twitter Message List perform as expected I would suggest to have at least twice more tweets in the list than number of times you tweet daily. For example, if you plan on posting once an hour it'll make 24 tweets a day. In this case add at least 50 tweets to your Twitter Message List.

Engage with new relevant accounts

Twiends application

Another very important thing is to keep engaging with other people and ideally with those who are relevant to your business.

I came across this awesome tool - It is easy to set up, you only have to log in with your Twitter account, specify your interests and you are ready. Then you'll be getting suggestions to engage with certain accounts and once you start following you will notice that your followers count starts raising.

Keep your account clean

It does not look very good when you follow 5000 people and only 15 follow you back. So it is a good idea to clean up your account from time to time in order to unfollow those who either did not follow you back or stopped following.

There is a great tool for that - Crowdfireapp. They offer lots of cool features, such as recent followers, non followers, recent unfollowers, auto replies and much more. I only use "recent unfollowers" and "non followers" in order to clean up my account.

So follow these three simple steps:

  1. Set up your Twitter Message List (one hour once a month
  2. Engage with relative accounts (daily, 20 seconds)
  3. Clean up you account (daily, 20 seconds)

Every day when I get to the office I launch browser, open Twiends and Crowdfireapp, click through to engage with new people and unfollow those who abandoned me and that is it!

It is not the best content marketing strategy, but it is a better than nothing. And imagine what you can achieve if you spend some time working on your content when you can get that far with only using 40 seconds of your time daily!

4 reasons to start your own online business

Cruel reality

Yes, we all dream about doing what we love and getting paid for it. In reality this is not always that easy. You read those motivational quotes telling you that you should quit your job and follow your dreams, if you don't like where you are, move, you are not a tree, etc.

But it is hard. And it gets even harder when you have family and kids, mortgage and monthly expenses you cannot really ignore.

But beside all these concerns there is cruel reality - the majority of online businesses fail. Even brightest ideas fail quite often. And most likely you will fail as well!

Reason #1 - Failure

You will fail! Yes, this is the best reason why you should give it a try. Failure does not have to be a bad thing. None of us was born with knowledge and strength to walk, we all learned it, built strength. We tried and we fell, got up and tried again. And now we walk.

Yes, it is said to realize that you idea failed, that time and money spent and there is no result. Your girlfriend or wife might blame you for wasting time, you friends might say "we told you so". But think about the experience you've just gained! What you have learned! You stepped out of your comfort zone, you gave it a try, most likely you tried different hats on. And yes, it did no work out, but now you know what did not work, and what to do differently next time.

And yes, don't give up! You are already in entrepreneurship world, you are one of those brave ones. So analyze your results, get yourself together and get back up!

Reason #2 - Experience

Being in charge of your own business gives you a unique opportunity to try yourself in different roles. You have to come up with the idea, do a marketing research, build a business plan around it, build your MVP, build awareness about your product. So you work as a CEO, marketeer, software developer, designer, accountant and much more. If you build a team around your idea you also try yourself as a recruiter and a salesman (trying to sell the idea so people would actually join the team).

For me as a software engineer starting my own business was a great opportunity to learn what it takes to be a product owner. When you fully responsible for all aspects of product development, decide which features to be included in next release, how to market them, impact on software architecture. It is a great experience and requires a lot of learning and sleepless nights. But totally worth it! Even if you don't succeed, your experience would be very valuable and could get your a higher position with your next employment.

Reason #3 - Freedom

If you business finally became profitable then you are a lucky man! With online business you can work from any part of the world (as long as you have internet connection), you can work at any time of the day or night. So no more 9 to 5 job, no need to wear a suit and shave if you don't feel like it. You are free!

If only it was that easy, right? Having those advantages does not mean you can do nothing and just chill on the beach sipping caipirinha's. Your own business is a lot of work and most likely you'll be working way more than 40 hours a week and working over the weekends. But hey, you are working for yourself and you do what you love! And if you are already here - you are my hero!

Reason #4 - Respect

If you succeeded and your online business became your primary income, it let you quit your job and you have the same income or even more this is awesome! But even if you are only trying to get through, fighting with all the challenges along the way and not making anything yet I bet your friends, those who did not dare to give it a go, respect you for actually trying!

You will not achieve anything if you don't try! But it is scary. And the majority of us know that and only keep whining about how cool it would be to do something, or be someone. Taking on a fight and losing is more respectful than chickening out and doing nothing.

If you have an idea, do not be afraid and give it a go. But do your homework first. Do your research, find out all potentials issues, try to estimate how long it would take to build it, how much would it cost, do you have all necessary skills or would you require to find somebody to assist you. Do you marketing research to make sure that your product is actually required (do not build something nobody needs). And don't be afraid of altering you initial idea. While your project is evolving you might need to tweak the initial idea or even change it completely. Changes are good!

Have you already tried running your online business? What were your biggest challenges?

How to set up automated Facebook posting with

You have signed up for – that’s great! We are thrilled to hear that.

What next? One of the coolest features of is the ability to generate Facebook posts based on your website’s content. This way you can create a schedule and focus on your primary business leaving your content marketing running on autopilot. Well, up to a certain limit🙂

But we’ll talk about it later. Let’s start the setup!

How to configure automated feed on

  1. Now first thing you need to set up is your feed source – link your website, and teach Bludged how to parse it. To do that, navigate to “Feed Sources” menu and then click “Add New Feed Source” button.

Finalizing your automated feed setup

Next thing to do is to create a scheduler. Navigate to “Schedulers” menu and click “Add New Scheduler” button.

All done! Now in the background will start crawling your website, generate posts and store them in the system. You would have to approve those before they get posted. But don’t worry, you can approve all by a single button click🙂 Navigate to “Posts”, click “Automated Posts” button to find all your automatically generated posts. If you like what you see just click “Approve All” button and this is it.

Before we wrap up, there is one more thing I wanted to talk about.

Is it good enough to run on autopilot?

The answer would be “NO”. If you only want to fill up your Facebook feed with automatically generated posts listing your products, this is a bad idea. But mixing your manually crafted posts with those product promotions would be a much better approach. So ideally create an automated feed, post with it 3-5 times a week and schedule some manual posts as well. This way your feed looks live and user friendly, your followers don’t feel stuffed with dry product posts.

Do you have any questions/comments? Please leave a comment below, we would love to hear back from you. You can also reach us via Twitter.

How to automate and loop your tweets

Why automate Twitter

The very first thing I wanted to cover in this post is why would you want to automate your Twitter account? The answer is simple, with automation you can work more efficiently and effectively.

What do we mean by automation? Generally when people talk about social media marketing automation they talk about publishing schedule and generating some interaction dynamically. It could be engagement with users or generating content.

In this post we will discuss how to automate you Twitter posting activities - creating Twitter schedule and loop your tweets.

Why looping tweets

Twitter differs from other social networks in a way that content users receive has very short life time. Don't take me wrong, your tweets are still there. But chances that people would see, read and engage with them are very slim the older they get. This is one of the main reasons why you should tweet your content multiple times. This way you increase your chances of engagement.

There are lots of resources out there with suggestions for the best time to tweet. But in reality, unless your business targets a geographically specific region, it is not that simple. In the world of online business your customers are everywhere. And having your Twitter scheduler set for a particular time zone might not be the best choice. My advice is try and adjust. Tweet regularly and check your engagement. After some time you would be able to figure out what are the best times for you to tweet.

How to automate and loop your tweets

Alright, so let's get started! There are several tools out there that can help you with Twitter marketing automation. I would definitely recommend checking out this awesome article by Social Media Examiner "How to Automate Your Tweets: 3 Useful Twitter Apps".

They cover Tweriod, Buffer, and IFTTT. But in this article I am going to talk about How to use it and why and when would it be the best choice for the job.

Without any further delays let me introduce you to! With this tool you can link as many Twitter and Facebook accounts as you want. And you can schedule as many posts and tweets as you want. Another cool feature of and the one we are going to talk about in more details is Twitter Message Lists.

When you schedule a tweet in you have an option to add it to one or more lists. Each list is configured with it's own targeting Twitter account and scheduler. So you can send the same tweet to multiple lists and post to different accounts at different times.

You can also configure your list to be active up to a certain date. Let's say you are running a Christmas marketing campaign promoting some products for a limited time only. Just set your list to be active till Christmas and it will automatically switch off after. This way you can be sure that there will be no tweets send after Christmas since your special offer is over then. Pretty handy eh?

Step #1 - Create scheduler

Create scheduler in

First of all create an account at or log in if you are a registered user.

  1. Once logged in, navigate to Schedulers menu (on the left side).
  2. Click "Add New Scheduler" button. Specify scheduler name, time zone, select days you want this scheduler to be active on and time slots. Same time slots will be applied to every selected day of the week.
  3. Click "Save Changes" button. Yes it is that simple.

Now, what if you want to post at different times during weekdays and weekend? You would need to create two schedulers, one for weekdays, another one for weekends, specify those times you want to post at. Problem solved 🙂

Step #2 - Link Twitter account and create Twitter Message List

Link Twitter account to

  1. To link your Twitter account navigate to "Linked Feeds" menu item.
  2. Click "Link Twitter Feed" button. If you are already logged into your Twitter account it would be picked up automatically. If not, then you would have to log in first before you can authorize application to post on your behalf.

If you need to link multiple Twitter accounts, after first one is linked, log out from your Twitter account (not system), and perform previous two steps again.

Step #3 - Add tweets to the list

Add tweets to Twitter message list

To add tweets to your list there are two options:

  1. Create a stand alone tweet and also add it to a list(s)
  2. Or create a tweet within the list (this way this tweet will be used only within this list and cannot be added to other lists)

To create a stand alone tweet:

  1. Navigate to Posts menu
  2. Click "Create Tweet" button.
  3. Select Twitter account you want this tweet to be published to. Enter your tweet message, add image if necessary, specify when you want this tweet to be published (date, time, and time zone). And you can also select list(s) you want this tweet to be a part of.
  4. Click "Save" button

To add new tweet to a particular list:

  1. Navigate to Twitter Lists menu
  2. Click on "View List Tweets" button (a small button on the right side with an eye icon)
  3. Click "Add new Tweet" button and add your message, add image if necessary.
  4. Click "Save" button.

We recommend to have at least two and a half time more tweets in your list than number of time slots selected for each day. For example: if you have your scheduler configured to post Monday to Friday every half an hour between 8 AM and 8 PM that would be 24 posts a day. Then multiple 24 by 2.5 and you will get 60. This is a minimum number of tweets we would recommend to have in your list before you activate it. Why? Because Twitter treats tweets as duplicate if they have identical text and posted frequently. Nobody knows what is the exact frequency you can post the same tweet. Beside Twitter guys. But based on my testing if you have a couple of days and several tweets in between it should not be a problem.

Step #4 - Sit back and relax

Now when you have enough tweets scheduled it is time to activate the list. Grab a beer, sit back and relax. Have one for me as well!
